When I ask people why they have not completed or even addressed any final wishes planning, I’m often told that they figure they have time to do this later. What is time? Time was invented by man to measure the rotation of the earth as it revolves around the sun.so there could be a consistent way of observing and communicating.

However, the way we often refer to time seems to indicate that we believe that we run the show: “I have time” , “I’ll find time”, “I’ll make time”

Every day, people wake up thinking that they have time. They make plans for that day and for other future events. And, everyday, some of those people die and for them, time stops. This is not to say that we shouldn’t male plans for the future. But, we should also plan for the ceasing of time for us.

Addressing our final wishes can help remove burdens from our loved ones. After time stops for us, they will have to grieve the loss. Let’s not add additional duties for them during this difficult time. Leave a legacy, not a burden.

Do you really have time or does time have you?
